1) Just because someone is using another platform and probably another method to pursue his goal, and thus not joining you in the same organisation or action group, doesn't mean he is a hypocrite or tries act like he is arrogant. I just believe that this person has chosen different faith and different route to reach the goal, and just play his part.

2) Adaptation doesn't mean trying to assimilate and become same like other people in that particular place. Because you can never be someone when you are just not that someone in the first place. Respect your self identity, your uniqueness, and your strength. Adaptation must be accompanied with interchanging the specialty of your culture and your unique characters, in order to have mutual respect for each other and as a good way to learn from each other enhancing experience. I am proud that I retain my self, never compromise my identity in order to adapt to a new environment. Something you can change, like your lifestyle or take an interest in, such as language and social activities to understand the local people better, but you just don't need to change yourself entirely to fit into the culture mold of somebody.

agree dear!!!

although i didnt learn swedish as well as i hoped, i adapted to the swedish lifestyle (just have to, cos you are living in another place) in another way.

i observed how they work and interact in their daily life - transportation, consumer goods, service, corporate bodies and adapt myself to cause less convenience to the locals from the perspective of a foreign "alien". :)
